"I visited Rockaway Beach Gifts and Sweets at the encouragement of a friend of mine. I didn't make a point of it, til I was getting a cup of coffee nearby and I thought I'd drop in. I had met one of the owners, Kim, on a previous occasion, and I really enjoyed her energy and sense of humor. Now, on her turf, that sense of enthusiasm was even more amplified and I loved it. "Rockaway Beach Gifts & Sweets was one of the shops we happened to stop by and what an amazing experience it was. We met Kim, the person running the store, and not only was she helpful, she was kind, attentive and downright hilarious. Sometimes the things in a store won't always be the greatest quality, but the person helping you can make a huge difference. In the case of my time here, both the products being sold AND the customer service was amazing. Kim was interested in us, she asked open-ended questions, and she was a joy to talk to and be around. I love that she is a local letting others know what the locals do and where the best places to go are. We had such a fun time talking, buying candy, picking up new stickers, and enjoying each other's humor, that we took a picture with her to remind her who we are next time we go to visit. Even before our time with her, she was so attentive to other customers who were in her store. A family of three or four were there and their dad was watching his young children explore the space, while also watching how they spend. They could not have chosen a better place. Kim was was a joy to listen to in how she was present with those young girls. By the way, those candy sours were great and the salted chocolates at the front are amazing! "Happened to walk by this shop that recently opened. The owner/shopperson stepped out when we walked in so we did some browsing. They have a cute collection of gifts. When she returned she told us they just got the Feve cocktail chocolates so I got a box since the price was what Feve charged. The chocolates were very good. Since I bought the chocolates, she gave me a sample of soap, a small card, and a 2022 Pacific real estate calendar (that's available outside in the plaza). "I came to to check out this store after seeing adorable Facebook ads featuring a young lady named Maddy. The pseudo commercials were the cutest things, I had to check it out. The day before Easter I realized I did not have anything special for the baskets, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to check out the Sweets shop. The owner (I think) helped me build 3 baskets and kept with my my budget. Each basket was adorable and filled with goodies. The sweets shop even threw in free peeps and the grass for the baskets.
